In Defense of The Stupids
Wednesday Dec 11, 2019
Wednesday Dec 11, 2019
If you grew up in the 90's, you might recall coming across this bizarre gem of a film while channel surfing one lonely afternoon. It starts simple enough: you know, middle-class suburban family with stop-motion pets, nothing serious. Next thing you know, you find yourself in a world of wild and deep rooted conspiracy theories. Who is taking your garbage and why? Who is this "Sender" we keep returning mail to? Do aliens exist? Can you really be your own Grampa? Is Tom Arnold really that bad at rollerblading? Aaron and Dan hop in their time machine elevator and head back to 1996 to tackle all these questions and more! Let's get stupid!

We knew that sooner or later Dan and Aaron would tackle an Arnold Schwarzenegger film, and what better time than for the Season One Finale! It is the Holiday Season once again and Christmas is upon us. The roads are busy, the stores are crowded, and one regular everyday bodybuilding mattress salesman needs to prove to his wife that he has what it takes to make his son happy! It's Turbo time as two less-than-stellar dads face off in a battle to the death over the Nation's hottest selling action figure: Turbo Man! On this episode, Dan and Aaron plumb the depths of this film, and read way too much into everything in the quest for truth. That truth? What exactly was this movie supposed to be? Stay tuned to the end for a special so-bad-it's good musical number by Dan!
Merry Christmas and see you in 2020!

Dan and Aaron are back - just in time for the world to go full-on Mad Max.
Grab a hot dog and take shelter from the doom and gloom with this bizarre film. Dan and Aaron dig into the hilarious mess that is, 2008's "The Happening." With 18% on the Tomatometer, and a 24% Audience Score, this film will have you laughing, crying, and shaking your head all at the same time. Is it a comedic masterpiece, or a completely botched and misguided horror film? Close your windows, lock your doors, and let's dig in and find out. It is time once again to ask ourselves, is M. Night Shyamalan a good filmmaker?

In Defense of The Predator

Sequel Season is in full-swing as Dan and Aaron take on 2018's "The Predator"
Sitting on the Tomatometer at 32% with an Audience Score of 33%, it is pretty easy to see that this film didn't resonate with die-hard or casual fans alike. However, being the most successful film of the franchise does raise a few eyebrows and prompt some investigation. Dan and Aaron discuss the fine lines Director Shane Black had to walk in order to bring this soft reboot to the big screen. They discuss the history of the franchise, the bizarre reshoots, and take a second look at stuff they didn't like about it with fresh eyes. Did nostalgia set unrealistic expectations? Is this movie actually just mad trash? Is there more good to it than meets the eye? Come find out why "The Predator" might actually be a better Predator movie than you think it is.
NOTE: This episode has been flagged as Explicit due to some language from the film clips included. Assuming you're a Predator fan, this shouldn't come as a surprise.

In Defense of Alien 3
Friday Apr 24, 2020
Friday Apr 24, 2020
The time has come to finally take on the film that inspired the very concept of this podcast! Dan and Aaron finally take on "Alien 3".
With a Tomatometer rating of 43% and an Audience Score of 47%, Alien 3 is a prime example of what studio meddling can do to a beloved franchise. With expectations sky-high after the blockbuster success of 1986's "Aliens" fans were lead to believe that the next installment would bring the mighty Xenomorph to Earth. Turns out 20th Century Fox had other plans. More specifically, 20th Century Fox had no plans at all! With a release date set in stone before a story or script were locked in, the stage was set for box office disappointment. "Why are the innocent punished? Why the sacrifice?" Against all odds, Director David Fincher somehow managed to scrape together a film that is dark, dreary, and wildly divisive among fans. But is it all bad? Not by a long shot! 3 Times the Episode, 3 Times the Defending, 3 Times the Jokes! Let's go!
